Intel AI Academy workshop: MACHINE LEARNING & DEEP LEARNING FUNDAMENTALS

Nowadays, it is difficult to find a field where Artificial Intelligent (AI) have not been adopted to some extend or where field experts did not think about possibility to apply it. Huge IT giants elaborate and offer big variety of AI based services and tools to be used in various application domains facilitating the global grow of economy. Therefore, it become crustal for experts from different fields be aware of development trends and successful use-cases of AI related technologies.

As a part of scientific collaboration activities of the Faculty of Information Technology and companies who actively contribute in development and adoption of Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Cognitive Computing and other related technologies; we are glad to announce next upcoming workshop on “Machine Learning & Deep Learning Fundamentals” organized in collaboration with Intel AI Academy. Recently, Intel announced a new neuromorphic and self-learning chip (called Loihi) capable of representing 130 000 neurons and 130 million synapses (read more here). It could be considered as a positive indicator of their serious attitude towards development, support and further promotion of the technology.  

The event takes place on Friday 13 October 2017 (12:30-16:00) in Auditorium MaA103 at University of Jyväskylä (Ahlmaninkatu 2, 40100 Jyväskylä). More detailed agenda could be found from the event registration form.

For students

There will also be a possibility for students of University of Jyväskylä to obtain 1 ECTS for participation of the event. For this purpose, student should write a learning diary (min 2 pages) and share his/her thoughts and ideas regarding applicability of the technologies, further development of the tools, application domains and tasks or any other related aspects. Send the document to Dr. Oleksiy Khriyenko (oleksiy.khriyenko@jyu.fi) with the email subject “Intel Workshop Assignment”.
