The Biological Interactions Doctoral Programme (former Graduate School) (BIOINT) is a multidisciplinary doctoral programme (University of Jyväskylä, University of Helsinki, University of Eastern Finland, University of Oulu, University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, Finnish Food Safety Authority EVIRA, MTT Agrifood Research Finland, Finnish Forest Research Institute Metla, Metsähallitus, The Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute RKTL, Finnish Environment Institute SYKE) that trains doctoral students in the fields of evolutionary biology, physiology, molecular biology, aquatic and terrestrial ecology and their applications to become professionals in basic and applied research, education, and administration. Appointed by the Ministry of Education 2010-2013, BIOINT merges two previous graduate schools, the former Biological Interactions Graduate School (University of Turku) and the Graduate School in Evolutionary Ecology (University of Jyväskylä). BIOINT is appointed and funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Academy of Finland and is coordinated by the University of Jyväskylä (Department of Biological & Environmental Science).
