TRIAD - Researcher workshop

TRIAD - Transition to parenthood in a cross-national perspective: global challenges, future solutions

In this workshop TRIAD, leading scholars from Europe, Australia and Japan seek to identify the key processes inside the family and society that either enhance or hamper parenting, gender equality and work-care reconciliation between parents during the early years of parenthood. The research workshop will last two years and include a series of four international seminars. Part of the workshop will be open to a wider audience (open seminar days).

By a cross-national approach, we hope to illuminate the role of different policy and gender regimes for families in this key transition. Cross-national comparison can help to show how family processes are shaped by welfare policies and cultural expectations.

The researcher workshop TRIAD is funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation (2016-2018).
