Tuition Fee and Scholarships

Tuition Fee and Scholarships of the Master's Degree Programme in Nuclear and Particle Physics

Tuition is free for citizens of EU/EEA countries and Switzerland. In addition, students who are in possession of a valid residence permit in Finland of the type A, P, P-EU, or EU Blue Card are exempted from paying tuition for the duration of the validity of the permit.

For other students, the tuition fee in this programme is 12 000 € per  academic year starting from the intake of year 2017. The University of Jyväskylä offers scholarships which cover the tuition fee to 50 % of admitted scholarship applicants.

In addition, the department has reserved funding (500 €/month/student) for foreign students for a maximum of 2 years. Foreign students accepted to the programme can apply for the funds using a free-form application letter. To be eligible, one must have an accepted study plan, which is made together with a Master's studies tutor at the beginning of studies (September). The grant will be paid monthly and is dependent on successful progress in the study plan. Progress is evaluated every six months.
