You can either fly directly to Jyväskylä OR fly to Helsinki and take a train to Jyväskylä (directly from the airport) OR fly to Tampere and take a train from there to Jyväskylä.

The flight from Helsinki to Jyväskylä is usually quick, but sometimes the flight is via Kokkola or similar making the flight time longer. The airport is located about 20 km outside Jyväskylä meaning an additional taxi ride to and from the airport.

The train from Helsinki to Jyväskylä is quite convenient and cost effective these days and the journey takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes taking you right into the city centre.

The flight from Helsinki to Tampere is about 25 minutes (60 minutes for the flight from Stockholm to Tampere). The airport is also outside of the city centre meaning a taxi ride to the railway station from where a train journey to Jyväskylä takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.

The train time tables and prices can be found at www.vr.fi/en, be sure to state Helsinki airport as your starting point.
