Miika Tervonen, PhD

Miika Tervonen is a university researcher and Docent at the University of Helsinki. He combines historical and social science perspectives to explore the internal and external boundaries of Nordic nation/welfare states. Tervonen’s work in deconstructing the myth of culturally homogeneous Finland has been awarded the Vuoden tiedekynä –prize (2017), and the Finnish State Award for Public Information (2013). Tervonen received his Doctorate degree at the European University Institute, Italy, and has worked as a visiting scholar at the Columbia University and London School of Economics.
