The celebration for scientists is here – join us at the Researchers’ Night on Friday, 28 September

This Friday the University of Jyväskylä will host the Researchers’ Night. The biggest science event of the year brings plenty of visitors to the campus area. Join us, meet researchers and hear about the scientific breakthroughs of the past year.

Last year Jyväskylä’s event was a huge success, drawing about 12,000 visitors. There is plenty to see, learn and experience for everyone.

JYTutkijoidenYO2017-15.JPGThe programme runs from morning to midnight, and includes a variety of interesting and exciting things to learn more about. Would you like to know more about robotics, artificial intelligence or chemical reactions? You can also find out, what the world looks like through your dog's eyes! Or you can take a closer look at the interesting world of sexual reproduction.

For more about the programme and schedule, visit the event website. There are happenings all over the campus area: Ylistönrinne, Agora, Ruusupuisto, Seminarium, Musica and the library. In addition, there are events at the Art Museum Holvi and Rihlaperä Observatory.

We encourage visitors to use the green Linkki buses of Jyväskylä Region Public Transport. They are free of charge that evening, so getting to and around the campus and city centre will be easy.

The European Researchers' Night takes place at the same time with Jyväskylä’s City of Light event. Visitors can enjoy multiple light installations and light-themed events when visiting the campus area.

JYTutkijoidenyo_nano_032.JPGIn the Jyväskylä University Campus area, you can buy food and cafe refreshments from Semma restaurants Uno 08.00–19.00, Piato 07.45–18.30 and Ylistö 8.30–22.30, where you can dine until 9 p.m.

Please join us in celebrating science and scientists!
