Crossing Borders exhibition, Gallery Ratamo

Time:

7.2.2019 — 3.3.2019

Location: Muu, Galleria Ratamo, Veturitallinkatu 6, Jyväskylä
Questions of belonging in places are explored in the works presented in the Crossing Borders Exhibition in Gallery Ratamo.

How do people belong in physical, social and virtual places?

How do they discuss, perform and question belonging and non-belonging?

How can artistic practice help us express and produce different ways of belonging?

These questions are explored in the works presented in the Crossing Borders Exhibition in Gallery Ratamo. The exhibits - writings, installations, paintings, sculptures, video and other sound and visual art works – have been created by 20 artists who took part in workshops aiming to cross borders between language, arts and research.

The exhibition is open during Ratamo's opening hours Tue-Su at 11am-6pm. Free entrance. Welcome!

Crossing Borders is a research project of University of Jyväskylä, funded by the Academy of Finland.

Collaborators: Multicultural Center Gloria and Jyväskylä Art Museum.
