Finnish Language Test of Quality

CertificateThe Finnish Intermediate level test (CEFR levels B1 and B2) in the National Certificates of Language Proficiency language testing system has successfully passed the ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe) auditing process for the second time. As a sign of this, the test has been granted the ALTE Q-Mark until 2019. The mark can only be granted for ALTE members that in all respects fulfil the quality requirements and standards set for language tests.

The National Certificates is a multi-language test system administered jointly by the National Board of Education and the Centre for Applied Language Studies at the University of Jyväskylä. By far the most popular test in the system is the Finnish Intermediate level test taken by learners of Finnish as a second language for citizenship purposes. The test is typically taken after learning Finnish in language learning programmes although the test can be taken by any adult regardless of their language learning background.
