The Academy of Finland postdoctoral researcher position to Amal Attouchi

Postdoctoral Researcher Amal Attouchi from Department of Mathematics and Statistics at University of Jyväskylä received three year funding as Academy postdoctoral researcher starting on 1st of September 2017. Amal will focus on regularity issues for the normalized p-Laplacian and more general parabolic equations in non-divergence form. The grant for the project is 251 510 euros.

The scope of the proposed research project is to investigate qualitative properties of viscosity solutions to nonlinear parabolic equations related to the normalized $p$-Laplacian.

The normalized $p$-Laplacian arises from stochastic games and has applications in image processing and economics. These equations are in nondivergence form and include singularities or degeneracies due to a growth of the gradient of the solutions. During the course of the project my first aim is to study the interior regularity of the solutions of more general equations sharing some aspects with the normalized $p$-Laplacian. The second goal is to investigate the boundary regularity of the solutions.” says Amal Attouchi.

Amal Attouchi is a new Academy's postdoctoral researcher.

The aim of the Academy of Finland’s funding for research posts as Postdoctoral Researcher is to advance the professional competence of the most promising researchers who have recently completed their doctoral degree.
