University of Jyväskylä renews its brand

The University of Jyväskylä is responding to the increasing competition for the best students and employees by reinforcing its brand identity. The renewal clarifies the University’s profile, enhances its recognition and appeal, and harmonises its brand identity.

The new brand highlights the University’s impressive history, traditions and interactive community spirit. Besides being a high-level research university with a unique profile, the University of Jyväskylä is a humane, dynamic community where everyone can easily find their place.

University main site renewed

The University’s main site was published today with the new brand image. In this phase of the website renewal, the new image is visible on the main site, the research sites, the University info sites and cooperation sites as well as on their English versions.

Visual appearance and new navigation and search functions play a key role on the new sites. The public site serves our students, external stakeholders and general public. It tells stories about the University and its research and teaching – and the people behind them.

– The website is our most important communication channel and a place to give a good impression of the University. The website has about 16 million visits per year. Along with the renewal, the usability and visual appearance of are modernised. The new site also serves mobile users better and highlights the University’s social media channels, says Communications Manager Miikka Kimari.

The renewal has become gradually visible on the University website from the beginning of 2017 when the websites of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education and Psychology were published.

– Next, we will renew the rest of the faculty websites and the websites of the independent institutes. Along with the new sites, more focus will be put on the production of images and videos, says Kimari.

We would be happy to receive your feedback from the new main site. Please check the site and use this form to let us know what you think of it.
