Come learn about developing intercultural competence with International students and Finns.

In an increasingly globalized world, the amount of multicultural interactions has reached an all-time high. When people from different parts of the globe interact, misunderstandings happen. While some misunderstandings may not produce a big problem, some have serious consequences. The ability to understand and communicate with other cultures has never been more important.

International and Finnish students of Educational Sciences have created 6 presentations, each one including a short video, talking about different issues that arise from cross cultural interactions.

The topics:

  1. Cultural Identity
  2. Intercultural Sensitivity
  3. Inclusive Citizenship
  4. Politeness
  5. Nonverbal Communication
  6. Stereotypes.

We warmly welcome all students, staff, and administrators to come and have an opportunity to better understand how people are integrating with one another all over the world.
