Guest Lecture Dr. Cat Pausé: "Fatness, Body Politics, and You: The role of Fat Ethics in Your Work"

Dr. Cat Pausé from Massey University, New Zealand will visit the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy in November.

Pausé is a sociologist and gender scholar whose research focuses on the effects of spoiled or stigmatized identities on health and well-being of fat individuals as well as research ethics.

Pausé is a leading scholar in interdisciplinary fat studies and she has published widely among others in Fat Studies Journal, Feminist Review, Narrative Inquiries in Bioethics, and Inside Higher Education. She was the lead editor of the anthology Queering Fat (2015 Ashgate/Routledge) and organizes the Fat Studies conference in Massey University that takes place every four years. She has also hosted a fat positive radio show/podcast already for five years.
