Rauno JulinEmeritus professor of physics Rauno Julin gives his farewell lecture “Trials of a nuclear physicist” on Friday the 8th of June at 12:15 at the Department of Physics (FYS1). The lecture is open to public, and is presented partly in English.

Professor Rauno Julin is one of the pioneer nuclear physicists of the University of Jyväskylä. During his 45-year career, he and the whole field of experimental nuclear physics have faced significant challenges. In his presentation Julin recaps some examples and ideas of those, largely based on his collection of documents and photographs.

Rauno Julin started as a physics assistant in autumn 1972 and has been a professor of physics since 1996 retiring at the end of 2017.

Anyone interested is warmly welcome! There will be coffee service.
