Sonaatti becomes Semma. New head chef from the world of fine dining

In May, Sonaatti will become Semma Campus Restaurants. The aim is to create a unique offering of cafeterias on the campus. In addition to the new name, Semma will have a new brand image and renewed cafeteria services.

According to an extensive customer survey with almost 3,000 respondents in autumn 2017, the most important thing in cafeteria services is tasty food. Based on this feedback, all our cafeterias will develop their selection and services as well as offer new worlds of tastes.

The first steps have already been taken in the renewed Rentukka restaurant in Kortepohja, and its versatile service concept has been received very positively. Next Wilhelmiina will become Maija, a home food restaurant that honours Finnish food tradition. The Lozzi terrace will open in the summer and Syke will be renewed in August.

Jari Kovanen to Semma’s kitchen

In its kitchen, new Semma will have a top talent. Despite of his young age, head chef Jari Kovanen represents the best kitchen skills in Finland, having worked earlier in fine dining restaurants such as Savoy, Demo and Sinne in Helsinki. Jari also has refined his skills in Sweden and Belgium. Previously he has worked for the Pöllöwaari restaurant in Jyväskylä. Welcome, Jari!
