Tutoring Services for International Doctoral Students

The International Office employs tutors (fellow students) for international students. Their task is to acquaint new international students with the system of studies and campus life in Jyväskylä. Tutors also help with practical questions, such as receiving the students at their arrival, and finding their way around the campus and the city centre.

The tutor and the arrival service are usually available only in the beginning of each semester or a few days before it. The autumn semester begins on 28 August and the Spring semester begins on 1 January. If you would like to have a tutor, please contact the Specialist in International Affairs of the Student Union at: international@jyy.fi. In your message, please state your full name, e-mail address, phone number, host Department, contact person at the University of Jyväskylä and estimated date of arrival in Jyväskylä.

The deadlines for requesting the tutoring service are:

  • Autumn semester:  13 July
  • Spring semester: 1 December
