The degree is completed in an international joint degree programme*

The degree programme, leading to a doctoral degree, is designed and implemented by one or more faculties of the University of Jyväskylä together with one or more foreign university units. A doctoral student who has completed a joint degree programme will be conferred on the degree by either one university or several universities and will be issued a degree certificate respectively from either one or more universities. A joint degree programme which leads to issuing two degrees and two official degree certificates on the basis of the same studies, may also be called a double degree programme.
