Contents: Digital innovations have been profoundly shaping businesses and societies worldwide. The course provides students with the foundational knowledge and mindsets for understanding and making decisions in today’s increasingly globalized and digitized business environment. Through a portfolio of in-class lectures, case studies, discussions, and exercises, the course introduces an important set of concepts, analytical frameworks, management practices, and real-life examples of leading firms, from Apple to Amazon to Alibaba, examines the changing landscape of digital technologies, and explores the opportunities and challenges for global businesses. 

Learning outcomes: Key learning topics of the course include:

1. foundational concepts related to digital technologies;
2. frameworks for conceptualizing digital projects and technology initiatives;
3. major real-life examples of big data and technology projects;
4. the future of big data, AI, and other emerging technologies and their impact on business and societies.
