Pharmacies

Supermarkets and grocery stores are not allowed to sell any kind of medicine in Finland. Medicines are sold only at pharmacies/chemists (apteekki). For some medicine you need a doctor's prescription, some can be purchased without a prescription. By presenting your Kela card at pharmacies, you can get a direct at-the-spot reimbursement for your costs.

Pharmacies are usually open

  • on Mondays to Fridays 8:00/10:00 a.m. – 6:00/7:00 p.m.
  • on Saturdays 8:30/9:00 a.m. – 2:00/3:00 p.m.

There are several pharmacies in Jyväskylä. To find contact details for pharmacies close to you, please search "apteekki Jyväskylä" in the Internet.
