Supermarkets and grocery stores are not allowed to sell any kind of medicine in Finland. Medicines are sold only at pharmacies/chemists (apteekki). For some medicine you need a doctor's prescription, some can be purchased without a prescription. By presenting your Kela card at pharmacies, you can get a direct at-the-spot reimbursement for your costs.

All shopping malls/big supermarkets like Prisma and Citymarket have a pharmasy/chemists. There is also Ylipiston apteekki at the city centre close to Sokos department store.

There are several pharmacies in Jyväskylä. To find contact details for pharmacies close to you, please search "apteekki Jyväskylä" in the Internet.
