Safety and wellbeing at work


The University of Jyväskylä strongly promotes the safety and wellbeing of employees. Employee safety is supported by paying attention to facility and information security, crime prevention and fire protection.

The University has an action model for early intervention and support that helps the work community to recognise and deal with work-related issues and support employee wellbeing.

The action model includes the following areas:

  • increased absences due to illness
  • decline in work profitability and/or quality
  • neglects in duties
  • harassment and inappropriate treatment
  • suspected alcohol or drug abuse
