Network for EU and European Studies at the University of Jyväskylä


EURECA JYU network brings EU and Europe related research in the University of Jyväskylä under the same ‘roof’ in order for researchers and students to better communicate and learn from each other. Interaction among disciplines under humanities, social sciences, education, business and economics, sport and health research and natural sciences is needed, as Europe faces complex global challenges and crises. EURECA JYU is an excellent partner for a variety of national and local EU actors.

Aims and activities

  • Creating dialogue between research, teaching, and student activity on EU and European issues in Jyväskylä
  • Building connections between actors involved in various EU projects and programs in the Jyväskylä region, such as state agencies, Regional Council of Central Finland, City of Jyväskylä, business, culture, media, alumni of the University of Jyväskylä working in the European institutions, etc.
  • Establishing a register of experts on EU and European issues
  • Developing joint projects and publication activities
  • Finding new project partners
  • Recognizing new research topics, collecting new research materials, developing new methods
  • Finding new ways and partners to disseminate and communicate research results
  • Increasing understanding about Europe and the EU
  • Organizing meetings around various topics
  • Maintaining a mailing list for communication and informing about Europe and EU related questions
