Master's Thesis

The Master's Thesis is part of the candidates's advanced studies in his or her major subject.

The master's thesis is both an official demonstration of the candidate's eligibility for the master's degree and an independent piece of research. The subject of the thesis can be chosen in two ways: it may be suggested to you by your department, or you can make your own proposal and agree on it with your instructor.


A thesis can take the following form: 

The aim of writing a thesis is to advance students' abilities to identify and investigate a chosen research problem or question, make use of the appropriate methods for solving this problem, and produce a coherent written report in which the findings of the research are examined, and their relevance assessed. To be approved, a thesis should sufficiently meet most of these objectives.
