Guidance at the University of Jyväskylä

In addition to HELA, a number of other University units provide guidance in their field:
The Admission and Student Services (building T, 1st floor) is responsible for matters relating to enrolment, student register, tutoring activities, and student financial aid. A website dedicated to study guidance at the entire University is available on the Admission and Student Services’ website (only in Finnish).

The Humanities Faculty Office (building A, 1st floor) gives advice, particularly in matters regarding degrees and graduation, the right to study, and questions concerning studying in general. Head of Academic Affairs Ossi Päärnilä is responsible for study matters in the Faculty of Humanities. The Faculty’s website provides information and guidance on various situations concerning studies (especially in the aforementioned matters).

The International Office (building T) provides guidance and advice in matters concerning student exchange and internships abroad.

The Career Services (Agora) gives career guidance and supports students’ transition into the labour market.

The Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä (JYY) is made up of all the students at the University. The representatives of JYY look after the students’ interests.

The Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS, or YTHS in Finnish) provides health care services and support in handling various crises and problems in life.

The Language Centre, the Library, and the Information Management Centre provide guidance and give advice in matters relating to their respective fields.
