Working groups

The working groups at the Department of Language and Communication Studies develop the operation of the department. They prepare the decisions made by the heads of the department as well as the instructions, proposals, reports and comments drafted by the Department. The working groups co-operate with the whole department, and they are not decision-making bodies.

The following groups are currently active at the Department of Language and Communication Studies:

The steering group is appointed by the head of the department every four years. The task of the group is to support the head of the department in executing the tasks defined in the University’s regulations. The group also acts as an intermediary between the subjects and the department’s management. The steering group defines and processes the policies of education, research and societal interaction as well as financial, personnel and curricular issues.
