Anne Golden

Anne Golden is Professor in Norwegian as a Second language at the University of Oslo.

Her main field of interest and research is literacy in a second language, particularly vocabulary issues in a second language.  Golden’s Ph.D is on the comprehension of metaphorical expressions found in Norwegian textbooks. Other points of interest are second language acquisition and second language teaching, language in textbooks, Norwegian grammar from a second language perspective, and the use of learner corpora in research.

Golden’s recent work deals with metaphors through two projects funded by the Norwegian
Research Council. In the project "Language, Culture and Identity in Migrant Narratives", metaphors are used as a research tool and in the project “ASKeladden - A corpus-based approach to L1 transfer in Norwegian learner language”, she studies the use of metaphors in learners’ written texts.
