I am working on a sociolinguistic project entitled ”Language and identity among multilingual adolescents in Norway: positioning in narratives”. In this project, I investigate how adolescents with a multilingual migrant background construct and negotiate their linguistic identities in autobiographical and interactional narratives. I do so by interviewing participants, and arranging focus group discussions. Data are contextualised within a sociocultural matrix especially focused on legislation and practice concerning multilingual pupils in the Norwegian school system.

My academic background is in translation (”licentiaat”, Universiteit Antwerpen), international relations (M.Phil., University of Cambridge) and applied linguistics (cand.philol. University of Oslo). I obtained my teaching licence from the University of Oslo in 2005, and have since taught French, English and Communication and Culture at two upper secondary schools in Norway.
