Anna Solin

I work as a senior researcher in discourse studies at the Department of Languages, University of Jyväskylä. My PhD is in Linguistics from Lancaster University, UK (2001). Before my current post, I worked as a researcher at the Department of English, University of Helsinki, and as an English lecturer at the University of Tampere.

My PhD thesis was concerned with intertextual relations in public discourse (published with the title "Tracing Texts – Intertextuality in Environmental Discourse"). My current research looks at genre change,
particularly in academic settings and in the ways such changes are related to globalisation. Thus, my interests link up with the network’s themes particularly as regards the analysis of mobility and its
implications for identity construction
