Old application info text - not public, for future use

The applicants are requested to fill in an application form, in which you describe your background and previous studies. In addition, you are requested to attach a motivation letter, in which you should describe your interests in the programme and other reasons for applying. Thirdly, you are requested to attach set of other official attachments (described below).

The application form 2010 can be downloaded here either as a .pdf or as .doc.
Instructions for filling in and returning the application form:
    •    Print out the application form and fill it in.
    •    Collect the following attachments: bachelor’s degree certificate (and it's official English translation), transcript of records (and it's official English translation), curriculum vitae (CV), a copy of your passport, the language test results, and a motivation letter. (In the motivation letter, describe your reasons for applying for the programme, approximately 3000 characters). (Note: if you have not yet completed your bachelor's degree studies, and do not yet have the degree certificate, but you will graduate before the programme starts, enclose a signed statement from your institution confirming that you will graduate before 1 September 2010.)
    •    Send the application form and all attachments by post to Assistant Professor Dr. Esa Ala-Ruona at the Department of Music at the University of Jyväskylä:

Only applications sent by post are considered to be complete. Please make sure that they reach the respondent by the end of the application period. Late applications will not be processed.

Sending the language test results
    •    All language test results must be sent to the above mentioned address. Please note that the testing centre must send the test results directly to the Department of Music at the University of Jyväskylä by the application deadline. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make testing arrangements for her/himself.
Based on the information given in applications, candidates will be selected for an interview, and they will be notified on this by e-mail. The interviews will be held in Jyväskylä if possible, and otherwise by phone/Skype.

The selected students will be notified of their acceptance to the programme by e-mail and a letter.
