CEFcult – Online CEF-based assessment of oral proficiency for intercultural professional communication

Coordinator / contact person at the University of Jyväskylä: Ari Huhta

Other participants: Mirja Tarnanen, Sabine Ylönen, Tarja Nikula (Solki); Teija Natri, Peppi Taalas, Anne Räsänen (Kielikeskus)

Duration: 2009-2011

Funding: EU Lifelong Learning Programme

The purpose of the CEFcult project is to create a web-based system that enables the self, peer and expert assessment of speaking in a second / foreign language. The system will include tasks that are as authentic as possible and in which speakers coming from different cultures can meet in different situations that relate to work and studies. The tasks make it possible to practice and assess both language proficiency and skills in intercultural communication.

Project coordinator: Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven)
