Sustainable Development and Pioneering Small Scale Rural Entrepreneurs - SUSMARU

The core of the project is to conceptualise sustainable small scale rural entrepreneurship and to contribute to the environmental social scientific knowledge and interpretation of rural sustainability. The analysis starts from the fact that neither sustainable development nor sustainable livelihood is self-evident by meaning for rural entrepreneurs. Consequently, the basic part of the study is to define the dimensions of sustainability that are most optional from the point of view of small scale rural entrepreneurship in dialogue with the rural entrepreneurs themselves.

Keywords: sustainable livelihood, on-farm sustainability management, network-based sustainable entrepreneurship, local food, renewable energy
