Reading group Social Pathologies and Critical Theory

Sep 9 - Dec 16, 2013

In critical social theory the notion of "social pathologies" has been used to describe both the "first-order" systematic obstacles and forms of domination creating suffering in people's lives, as well as ideological "second-order"  obstacles making the first-order problems hard to notice or socially invisible. This text seminar goes through some central readings. The course is organized by the research project "Pathologies of Recognition".
