Phenomenology, hermeneutics (Martin Heidegger, Hans-Georg Gadamer), continental political thought (Hannah Arendt, Giorgio Agamben), recent French philosophy (Jacques Derrida, Alain Badiou, Quentin Meillassoux), ancient philosophy (Presocratics, Plato, Aristotle).

Research Areas

Greek beginning and contemporary "end" of metaphysics. Philosophical history of the concept of creativity.

Relevance of Research

An understanding of the contemporary situation of Western philosophy, dominated by the theme of the "end of metaphysics", and of the emergence and development of certain contemporary key concepts and ideals (such as creativity) in the history of philosophy, advances the self-understanding of Western intellectual culture and also benefits its dialogues with non-Western traditions of thought and value systems.
