International Cooperation

The IT Faculty is engaged in active international cooperation both in the field of research and in teaching.

The Faculty staff is very international, including research staff, PhD students and teachers from around the world. We have active collaboration with our international partners, including student and teacher mobility. Our students can take part in funded student exchanges or do their practical training abroad. All our staff and students are encouraged to acquire international experience and improve their language skills.

International Agreements

International Degree Programmes

The Faculty has three active international Master's Degree Programmes fully taught in English. The MSc (Econ) Service Innovation and Management (SIM) programme of the Dept. of CS&IS and the MSc Web Intelligence and Service Engineering (WISE) were established in 2013. The Master's level Double Degree in Software Engineering and Service Design (SESD) delivered in collaboration with the Dept. of CS&IS and the Russian University ITMO saw its first student intake in 2014.

The Faculty also delivers Joint Doctoral Programme in Computer Science, Cognitive Science and Information Systems with Russian University ITMO. The Programme Leader for the programme is Prof Jari Veijalainen.

The Mobile Technology and Business (Motebu) Master's programme was delivered in cooperation by both Departments of the Faculty in 2007-2012; Motebu no longer recruits new students.

      Student Exchange Opportunities

      The Faculty welcomes approximately 30 incoming exchange students on an annual basis, mainly from European Erasmus partners, China and Russia. Application guidelines can be found on the website of the International Office. The students of the Faculty also have various study abroad opportunities through student exchange or practical training abroad!
