Postgraduate degree and certificates

last modified Jan 15, 2015 12:12 PM

The faculty will grant, by application, a postgraduate degree certificate, once the licentiate thesis / doctoral dissertation has been assessed, and the student has completed all the studies required for the degree, and the departments have updated the study records to show that the postgraduate studies in science have been completed by the student.

Those seeking a postgraduate degree must submit the postgraduate degree application to the faculty office, and they must be enrolled as postgraduate students present at the university at the time of the application. Postgraduate degree application forms and instructions may be obtained from the department amanuensis or faculty office.

Postgraduate degree certificates contain information about the major subject of the degree, the title of the licentiate thesis or doctoral dissertation, and the assessment. Official copies of the postgraduate degree certificate are available from the faculty office. Foreign students will receive the certificate both in Finnish and English.

Finnish students will receive, without a fee, an English translation of the postgraduate degree certificate as well as an English translation of the study record.
