Studies in Mathematical Information Technology

In department of mathematical information technology students studies two-phased degree, bachelor studies (180op) and masters degree studies (120op). Foreign students can apply for masters degree programme when they already have studies that would be equal as Finnish bachelor studies.

You should start considering the choice of your line of study already at the beginning of your studies because there are certain line-specific prerequisites for Master studies. You should have chosen your line of study at the latest when your Bachelor studies are nearly completed. If you have trouble deciding, consider study counselling.

New international studyline WISE (Web Intelligence and Service Engineering) starts from 2013.

Most courses in first three study lines are only in Finnish. Further information about the lines of study can be found in the study guide.

Previous skills and expertice

If you have previous skills and expertice you can apply for recognition of previously acquired skills and expertise with regard to the courses offered by the Faculty of Information Technology of the University of Jyväskylä.

Previous study lines for specializing (before fall 2011):

Older students may finish their degree in accordance with the old specialization options if they have started their studies in 2006 or after that.
