AD, JYUNET #
AD is an acronym for Active Directory, which is the commercial name for a Microsoft Windows-based computer network environment. The name of the University of Jyväskylä's AD network is JYUNET or ad.jyu.fi.

Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro is a desktop video conferencing system that is used at the University of Jyväskylä.

A Cookie is a small text file saved to the user's computer from many websites while browsing the web. The purpose of a cookie is to help identify the user who visited the website. Most cookies are harmless and even useful, but, for example, some advertising services can use cookies to inappropriately track a user's actions.

Optima is an online learning environment used throughout the University of Jyväskylä to support Web-based distance education.
Pathkey #
A pathkey is a password that can be used to protect web pages in Plone and in Moniviestin.
Plone #
Plone is the Content Management System (CMS) used to publish and update the University of Jyväskylä web pages.
Username and password #
A username and password are required to get access to the University's information systems, e.g. email, Korppi and Optima. You get a personal username and password when you begin your studies or work at the University.
VPN #
A virtual private network (VPN) allows computers located in different physical locations to be linked via an Internet connection.
WLAN #
Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) links computers or devices without using wires.
