Pirkko MelvilleDr. PIRKKO MELVILLE started her career as a symphony orchestra violinist and as a teacher/lecturer at Jyväskylä Conservatory, JAMK University of Applied Sciences and the University of Jyväskylä. Melville also worked for several years as CEO and director of a private music school. On completing her doctoral dissertation in musicology and master’s in business and economics Melville worked as an assistant professor responsible for music administration and production at the University of Jyväskylä. In 2009 Melville was invited to join the City of Jyväskylä’s innovation services unit as research and development manager. Close cooperation with the university continues.

Nowadays Dr. Melville is strongly involved with strategic development work, innovations and future forecasting in cities and regions. She is known for her extensive local, national and global multi-professional networks and excellent skills in managing the same. The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, among several others, is one of Dr. Melville´s closest partners.

Creative and open minded, Melville is an enthusiastic forerunner in the use of innovative co-creation tools, and experimental development is one of her favourite subjects. She also uses participative co-creation and experimental development as tools to find and test new ways to improve responsibility, social inclusion and resource-wise behaviour in cities, not only in the business environment but also among citizens. Community work has always been close to her heart.

Dr. Melville has been a member of EBEN since 2008.

Sirpa PietikäinenMember of the European Parliament, SIRPA PIETIKÄINEN (M.Sc. Econ., Helsinki School of Economics) is Member in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, in the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality and in the Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures Similar in Nature or Effect.

As the current key positions of trust she is Member of the Board at Kone Oyj, Fortum Advisory Council, Savings Banks Group Research Foundation and Lammi Savings Bank. Furthermore, Sirpa is Chairman of the Board at The Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation and at KONE Foundation, The Advisory Board of the Saari Residence. She is Lecturer in Negotiations Theories at Aalto University School of Business and University of Eastern Finland.

Previously Sirpa served as Vice Chairman in the Committee of Internal Market and Consumer protection and as Member in the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety at European Parliament. Earlier Sirpa Pietikäinen was Member of Finnish Parliament in 1983–2003 and Minister of the Environment of Finnish Government 1991–1995.

Hugh WilmottHUGH WILLMOTT (PhD Manchester University; Honorary PhD, Lund University) is Professor of Management at Cass Business School Research, City University and Research Professor in Organization Studies, Cardiff Business School. He received his PhD from Manchester University and previously held professorial appointments at UMIST (now Manchester Business School) and the Judge Business School, Cambridge and visiting appointments at the Universities of Lund, Uppsala, Sydney, Innsbruck and University of Technology Sydney.

Hugh is a Fellow of the British Academy. He has researched diverse aspects of organizations including managerial work, culture, control, corporate governance, management education, ethics, regulation and alternative organizations. He is currently Associate Editor of Academy of Management Review and was previously Associate Editor of Organization. He has also served on the editorial boards of Accounting, Organizations and Society, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability and a range of management and organization journals including Journal of Management Studies and Organization Studies.
