JSBE’s English-medium master’s degree programmes still most popular in JYU

More than half of applications to University of Jyväskylä’s master’s degree programmes held in English were to the four programmes offered by JSBE. The programmes gathered interest both domestically and internationally.

University of Jyväskylä received 1,050 applications of which 569 were directed towards JSBE’s MDPs. Because one person can apply for several programmes, the total number of applicants for JSBE’s programmes was 437. These four MDPs were also the four most popular programmes of all the English-medium programmes in JYU.

The most popular programme was International Business and Entrepreneurship with 198 applications, followed by Digital Marketing and Corporate Communication with 148 applications. Banking and International Finance (116), and Corporate Environmental Management (107 applications) complete the top four.

The number of applications grew from last year when JSBE received 445 applications. JSBE had the most popular programmes last year as well.

- Here in JSBE we have focused on the key points most important in the future and that can be seen in the large number of applicants, says JSBE’s Vice Dean Vilma Luoma-aho.

University of Jyväskylä received applications from 88 different countries. The largest was Finland with 150 applicants. Vice Rector of JYU Marja-Leena Laakso is happy about wide international interest in studies at the University of Jyväskylä.
