Doctoral School

JSBE doctoral school supports its students throughout their research process, for example, by

  • giving doctoral students supervision and career guidance
  • organizing expert lectures and seminars, as well as courses in research methods and academic writing.

JSBE doctoral school is led by vice dean Heikki Karjaluoto. At the JSBE there are two doctoral programmes:

JSBE doctoral studies are coordinated by senior researcher, Dr. Mika Haapanen (on leave in 1.2.-31.12.2017; Jussi Heikkilä will replace Haapanen during that time). JSBE Faculty Research Committee supervises the quality and processes of JSBE doctoral training.

Around ten to fifteen doctoral degrees and 150 Master's degrees were completed annually at the JSBE. Currently around 160 doctoral students study at the JSBE.

JSBE doctoral school is a part of University of Jyväskylä Graduate School for Doctoral Studies. Please see also their instructions for doctoral studies.
