Postdoctoral researcher Mika Nieminen did his doctoral dissertation on current account imbalances. He has been a visiting scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York (academic year 2014-2015), Bank of Finland Institute for Economics in Transition (April 2017) and UNU-WIDER (May-June 2017). In 2017 he received a post-doc grant from the OP Group Research Foundation. In 2014 he was granted the Björn Savén Finnish American Scholarship.

International macroeconomics (e.g., global current account imbalances, international capital flows) and economic development (e.g., path dependence, culture and institutions).
