Biography

Dr. Kari Sippola, Post-doctoral researcher, got his doctoral degree in accounting in 2008. Currently he teaches introduction to accounting –courses in Finnish and English, bachelor's thesis, and basic business studies case courses. Earlier, he has also given courses like production economics, management accounting and management control, advanced cost accounting, accounting information technology and Master’s thesis supervision. Sippola has also done management consultancy and worked in several organizations e.g. University of Oulu, Elektrobit, Buscom, Manpower, Metsa-Serla and Bank of Finland. His research interests are in management accounting, particularly in questions related to quality costing, software business, process development, and balanced scorecard -systems. Sippola has been active in various development projects; e.g. he is a founder member and developer of student mentoring system and student feedback system, and a founder member at student organization Finanssi ry in University of Oulu. He is a board member of the JSBE faculty teaching council.
