Dr. Jani O. Moilanen

Jani O. Moilanen

Jani hails from Kontiolahti, North Karelia. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2012 (inorganic chemistry) at the University of Jyväskylä. Jani's Ph.D. project involved computational and experimental investigations of unconventional main group compounds, including radicals and diradicals. After completing his doctoral degree, Jani was a Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. Richard Layfield at the University of Manchester where he conducted multiple research projects related to organometallic chemistry and molecular magnetism. Currently he is affiliated with the group as an Academy of Finland self-funded Postdoctoral Researcher conducting experimental and computational research on metal-radical complexes and their magnetic properties, in particular, single molecule magnet behaviour.
