Dr. Petra Vasko

Petra Vasko

Petra completed her doctoral work in inorganic chemistry with honours in late 2015. She is conversant in both experimental and computational approaches. Petra's primary research interests are in the synthesis and characterization of new main group systems with interesting properties and atypical reactivities. Her Ph.D. work focussed on a number of group 13 and 14 compouds and their reactions with small molecules. In January 2017, Petra relocated herself to UK to work with Prof. Simon Aldridge at the University of Oxford. Petra's position as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Aldridge group is financially supported by the Magnus Ehrnrooth foundation, the Emil Aaltonen Foundation and the University of Jyväskylä. During her postdoctoral stay, Petra will continue conducting main group chemistry research with a focus on small molecule activation studies.
