I have broad interests in molecular ecology, population genetics, phylogeography and phylogenetics, developmental biology and the evolution of development. Research in my group takes advantage of genetic and genomic tools to understand adaptation of populations to different environments and mechanisms underlying phenotypic divergence. My recent research has been focused on understanding developmental mode variation in the polychaete worm Pygospio elegans and the consequences of such variation on population genetic divergence. In particular, I am interested in how host-parasite interactions between P. elegans and the marine gregarine, Selenidium sp. could influence developmental variation.
