Research

  • Research interests: We research how common viruses and bacteria promote or cause chronic conditions like autoimmune diseases. In conducting basic research on this topic, we have used such results for the development of various diagnostic test kits. This translational value of our research helps in the understanding of how research results can be used for commercial purposes.
  • Why and to whom my research is important
    • 9 % of the world’s population suffers from autoimmune disease. Synergistic disease interactions between viral / bacteria infections and autoimmune conditions are of importance to the disease progression and consequence of the patient. Our research has provided the innovative grounds to improve diagnostic tests in such areas as tick-borne diseases.
