Research

  • Research interests: The number of antibiotic resistant infections are continuously increasing worldwide and thus posing a notable threat to modern health care. We are doing both basic and applied research with multi-drug resistant bacteria. As of methods, we utilize experimental evolution, genomics, genetic engineering, different microscopy techniques and computational simulations to approach the research questions.
  • Why and to whom my research is important
    • I study the spread of antibiotic resistance between bacteria as well as novel virus-based solutions to prevent it. Since antibiotic resistance is a major problem in modern healthcare, there is a demand for new approaches to treat and restrict resistant infections.
