Teaching

  • Laboratory courses in Biosciences (molecular biology)

Research

  • Research interests: My projects involve structural, functional and genetic characterization of novel freshwater bacterial viruses (bacteriophages or phages for short). I am also interested in exploring phage-host interactions.
  • Why and to whom my research is important
    • The aim is to study viruses infecting bacteria in lakes and analyse their interactions with the host bacterium. The research increases the knowledge of the enormous diversity among viruses. The project has an ecological aspect and the research results help to understand biological interactions and virus evolution
