Research

  • Research interests:
    • My research interests are spatial conservation prioritization and socially centred conservation science. In my PhD work I study the challenges and possibilities of nature conservation drawing the study cases from Finnish peatland conservation.
  • The background of my study:
    • The present political line in Finland and globally is to reckon nature conservation on voluntariness. How will this affect nature and economic costs of conservation? What kind of other processes are happening due to either top-down controlled or voluntary conservation decisions, and what are their consequences on biodiversity?
