Our synthetic laboratories are equipped with custom-designed state-of-the-art Schlenk lines and solvent drying setups, a four-port MBraun UNILab glove box and an MBraun MB-SPS 800 automated solvent purification system. This allows the manipulation of compounds under an inert atmosphere (argon) with strict exclusion of oxygen and water.


Our local computational facilities include a 20 seat Linux classroom for interactive usage and visualization (both 2D and 3D), a home-built 400+ core Linux cluster Europa and a 1000+ core FGCI cluster Puck. We also have direct access to the national supercomputers Sisu and Taito that are maintained by CSC – the IT Center for Science Ltd.


Large-scale instrument facilities include, among others, four Bruker NMR spectrometers, Magnettech GmbH MiniScope 200 EPR spectrometer, two Bruker (Nonius) Kappa Apex II diffractometers, two Rigaku (Agilent Technologies) XtaLAB Supernova diffractometers, PANalytical X'Pert Pro Alpha 1 diffractometer, Elementar Vario EL III element analyser, Perkin Elmer Lambda 650 UV/Vis spectrometer and two Bruker ALPHA FT-IR spectrometers.
